Pre-pregnancy Cohort

• You are generally healthy
• The female age is between the ages of 18-42
• Your (or your partner's) menstrual cycle is predictable
• No definitive cause of your recurrent pregnancy loss has been found (such as uterine septum or antiphospholipid antibody syndrome)
• You are planning a pregnancy with the same partner with whom you experienced your 2 or more pregnancy losses

• After verifying eligibility and receiving consent to participate, the couples will

1. Complete an online survey with questions about your medical and pregnancy history and your medical record will be reviewed for inclusions and exclusion criteria. 

2. The birthing person will come in 5-9 days prior to menstruation for a blood draw. Note that blood work requires fasting. 

3. The paternal partner will come in for a blood draw when convenient. 

4. The couple will notify the TRIOS team of a positive home pregnancy test.

5. The birthing person will undergo blood draws in the first trimester, specifically once between 5-8 weeks gestation and another between 9-12 weeks gestation. We will coordinate with other clinic visits when possible.

6. The TRIOS team will track your pregnancy’s progression, particularly treatments and medications.  

7. Be contacted via email to complete an online survey to update your medical and pregnancy history every 6 months for up to 5 years.

8. If you have a successful pregnancy, you will be asked to provide a DNA sample from your baby or child.

Participants in the pre-pregnancy cohort will be compensated $40 for travel and time for each blood draw.
